Lava Hot Springs: Choose the Hot Pools or the Swimming Complex

The hot pools are normally open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. The current page lists longer hours from May through September and a split winter schedule, with earlier closing on weekdays and Sundays. It also posts special holiday hours.

Read the calendar on the date of the visit. Maintenance, private events, weather, or a special reopening can change normal hours. The pools range from roughly 102 to 112 degrees Fahrenheit, so choose a pool that fits the individual and take breaks. Ask a medical professional about heat exposure when pregnancy, heart conditions, medication, or another health issue makes soaking uncertain.

The outdoor Olympic pool, diving platforms, and slides operate on a summer schedule. The indoor aquatic center has a different year-round schedule with limited hours. The official water-park page says admission includes the pools and slides that are operating, subject to height requirements and other rules.

Do not promise a particular slide or outdoor pool outside its posted season. Inclement weather can close pools or slides. Check the live calendar rather than relying on a general statement that the complex is open.

The Foundation posts separate hot-pool and swimming-complex prices, and rates vary by age, weekday, weekend, holiday, season, or ticket type. Use the current official rate table for every person in the group. A screenshot from last year is not a budget.

Hot-pool passes are currently one-time entry. Leaving means paying again to return. Confirm reentry and locker arrangements before splitting the visit around a meal. Online sales may save time, but the ticket terms still control refunds, date use, and facility access.

Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited at both facilities. Diving-tower users must sign a waiver, and a parent or court-appointed legal guardian must sign for a minor. Slides and attractions can have height rules. Check swimwear, flotation-device, food, supervision, and accessibility policies on the facility page or by calling before arrival.

Bring only what the facility allows and keep valuables managed. A hot-soak visit and a family water-park day need different towels, footwear, supervision, and time limits. Do not assume a toddler who can enter the complex can use every feature.

Using both facilities can work, but it requires separate addresses, schedules, admissions, and changing time. For most groups, one facility should be the anchor. Add the other only after checking that everyone wants the second activity and the combined cost and hours make sense.

Reopen the official calendar the morning of the trip. Confirm the address printed on the ticket, operating attractions, weather notices, price, and reentry rule. The town name is not a complete pool plan.
