Information covered by this notice
This notice applies to information handled through localroundup.net. It does not govern an organizer, venue, ticket seller, advertiser, or other third-party site reached through a Local Roundup link.
- Information you provide: details included in a correction, question, privacy request, or future event submission, such as your name, email address, event description, source link, and any files you choose to provide.
- Event and source information: public event facts, organizer and venue information, source links, and internal review records used to publish and maintain listings.
- Essential preference information: saved region, calendar or browsing preferences, and privacy choices stored in cookies or local browser storage.
- Optional analytics information: page path, referring page, outbound-link destination, and technical signals such as a hashed IP address and hashed browser user-agent when optional analytics is enabled.
- Advertising information: cookies, identifiers, IP address, browser or device information, ad impressions, interactions, and related measurement data when advertising is enabled and allowed by your choices.
How information is used
- Operate the site, remember visitor preferences, secure administrative access, and respond to requests.
- Research, review, publish, correct, archive, or remove event listings and prevent duplicate, deceptive, or low-quality submissions.
- Measure page use and outbound-link usefulness when optional analytics is enabled.
- Display, measure, limit, and report advertising when advertising is enabled and permitted.
- Detect abuse, protect the site, comply with legal obligations, and maintain appropriate business and audit records.
Cookies and browser storage
Local Roundup uses essential cookies or local storage to remember privacy choices and regional or calendar preferences. Optional analytics and advertising are off unless enabled through the available privacy controls. Blocking essential storage may prevent preferences from being remembered.
Local Roundup honors a browser Global Privacy Control signal by disabling sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising and personalized advertising on that browser. You can change or withdraw optional choices at any time using the controls below.
Analytics
If you allow optional analytics, Local Roundup may record page views and outbound-link activity using first-party measurement and may load Google Analytics when it is configured. First-party measurement stores the requested path, referrer, destination link, and one-way hashes of IP address and browser user-agent rather than the raw IP address or user-agent.
When Google Analytics is enabled, it is configured to disable Google advertising signals and ad-personalization signals, request IP anonymization, and avoid sending a page view until optional analytics has been allowed. Google may still process information according to its own terms and privacy practices.
Google AdSense and advertising cookies
Local Roundup may use Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve and measure ads. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to Local Roundup or other websites.
AdSense code is loaded only when Local Roundup's advertising launch requirements are enabled and the browser's advertising choice permits it. Where Google requires a certified consent management platform, that platform provides the applicable consent message and controls in addition to Local Roundup's site-level privacy choices.
If Local Roundup later enables another third-party advertising vendor or network, this notice will identify that provider or provide a current vendor-list path before its technology is used.
When information is disclosed
Local Roundup does not exchange personal information for money. Information may be disclosed to service providers that host, secure, measure, or support the site; to Google when Google Analytics or AdSense is enabled; to professional advisers; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer.
Advertising activity that qualifies as sale or sharing under an applicable state privacy law is disabled when the browser's sale or sharing opt-out is active.
Retention and security
Information is retained only as long as reasonably useful for the purpose described in this notice, including responding to requests, maintaining event history and source integrity, detecting duplicates or abuse, accounting, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. Records may remain temporarily in backups after deletion from active systems.
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send Social Security numbers, payment-card details, medical records, or other highly sensitive information through Local Roundup.
Your choices and requests
- Use the controls below to allow or reject optional analytics and advertising on this browser.
- Use Google My Ad Center to manage personalized advertising associated with Google, and use industry opt-out tools for participating advertising providers.
- Send a request to access, correct, or delete information you provided, or to object to or restrict its use where applicable. Local Roundup may need enough information to verify and complete the request.
- Browser settings can delete or block cookies and local storage, but doing so may reset saved Local Roundup preferences.
Children and public submissions
Local Roundup is a general-audience publication and is not directed to children under 13. Local Roundup does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Public content-submission features are limited to people who confirm that they are at least 18 years old.
Do not submit a child's personal information, image, voice, or precise location unless you are authorized to provide it and its publication is appropriate. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact Local Roundup so the information can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.
